Muscat: A trade delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has engaged with representatives and business owners from Tanzania to investigate ways to enhance trade and investment relations.
His Excellency Dr. Salim bin Salim Al Junaibi, who leads the Trade Delegation, stated that this visit marks a significant move towards converting the historical and cultural connections between the two nations into "concrete economic initiatives." He noted that Tanzania is viewed as a "broad gateway to Africa," offering promising prospects in various sectors. The visits also aim to reinforce Oman's commitment to the African continent as a key market for the future.
His Excellency Dr. Hashil Twibo, Undersecretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Trade and Industry, welcomed the delegation, highlighting the profound historical ties and the necessity of establishing investment partnerships that benefit both countries. His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah Killima commended the proactive involvement of the Omani private sector and affirmed that the Tanzanian government is supportive of Omani investors.
The delegation's itinerary included visits to a prominent meat production company and the Kamika Free Industrial City, which serves as a progressive model for attracting investments in agriculture, food industries, and logistics.
