Muscat: Omani citizens now have the opportunity to vote for their preferred visual identity for the Oman Nation brand, marking a significant phase in the comprehensive NationBrand development initiative.
Starting today, Thursday, December 26, and continuing until Sunday, December 29, 2024, residents of Oman can access the official Oman nation brand website at www.omanbrand.om to choose from three distinct visual identities. Each option features a logo that harmoniously blends traditional and modern Omani design elements, meticulously crafted by a Creative Committee composed of local professionals.
This voting initiative empowers the people of Oman to actively participate in selecting the visual identity that will be integral to the nation’s long-term branding strategy, heralding an exciting new chapter in Oman’s narrative that its citizens can proudly present to the global community.
The voting process is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly.
Participants can visit www.omanbrand.om on their mobile devices or desktop computers, register their information, select the logo that they believe best encapsulates the authentic story of the Sultanate—shaped through various engagement efforts across Oman—and submit their vote.
Eng. Aisha Mohammed Al Saifi, Director of Oman’s Unified Promotional Nation Brand Project and Vice President for the National Program for the Development of Private Sector and Foreign Trade (Nazdaher), emphasized the importance of participation in the campaign: “I urge all Omanis and residents in Oman to cast their votes in this initiative. Each vote holds significant weight, as it will help realize the Oman Nation strategy in a manner that genuinely reflects the values and aspirations of our people. This is a crucial initial step in our ongoing nation branding efforts, and your participation will enable us to proudly present the Omani narrative to the global audience.”
The winning logo will be unveiled to the public in early 2025 and will serve as the visual identity for the comprehensive Oman Nation brand strategy. The development of the three visual identity options for the campaign resulted from a collaborative effort between Omani and international experts, following an extensive 12-month research and development process. This included 500 surveys, 128 interviews, and numerous focus groups and street consultations with Omani citizens and residents throughout the country.
Additionally, 5,500 international surveys were conducted, and over 3.8 million search engine keywords were analyzed to gauge current perceptions of Oman and to identify the most effective implementation of the Oman Nation brand strategy.
This visual identity voting campaign is one of the initial public engagement initiatives designed for the Sultanate’s long-term nation branding strategy, which aims to enhance Oman’s global perception among international peers and leverage this for the benefit of the nation’s economy, society, and sustainable growth.
The strategy will also aim to distinguish Oman from other nations and address any misconceptions about the country.
