Muscat: The Pakistan Schools in Oman exemplify the lasting bond between Oman and Pakistan.
This journey commenced with the generous assistance of the Omani Government, which provided land for the school—an essential contribution that established an educational framework deeply intertwined with both Pakistani and Omani traditions.
As Pakistan School Muscat celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, it serves as a moment to reflect on its significant accomplishments and transformative changes over the last fifty years.
Currently, Pakistan Schools in Oman operate through seven branches, with Muscat and Seeb being the largest, while Salalah offers an international stream in addition to the Pakistani curriculum.
Sohar is poised for considerable growth, and Seeb and Nizwa are preparing to broaden their academic offerings in the upcoming academic year.
Suwaiq and Buraimi continue to enhance their influence within their local communities.
The network of Pakistan Schools in Oman represents not only an educational endeavor but also a symbol of the strategic and fraternal relationship between the two countries.
A significant milestone in our journey is the establishment of a new campus in Seeb, made possible by the generous support of the Omani government, which allocated two acres of land for this initiative. We express our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Housing for facilitating this allocation and to the Ministry of Education for their steadfast support and oversight throughout this endeavor.
The ongoing guidance from the Ministry of Education has been crucial to our advancement, including regular visits aimed at assessing and improving our educational standards.
Their recent delegation on February 19, 2025, highlights their dedication to the growth of our institution. We also wish to express our appreciation to the former Ambassador of Pakistan, Imran Ali Chaudhry, for his crucial contribution in securing this land.
Furthermore, the new campus for Pakistan School Muscat is in the works, with construction expected to begin shortly. The expansion of the Buraimi and Salalah branches represents another initiative aimed at accommodating our increasing student population.
Like many educational institutions globally, Pakistan schools encountered significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, facing considerable financial and academic difficulties.
However, instead of being deterred, the school emerged more resilient, embarking on an ambitious path of recovery and advancement. Since 2021, a series of innovative initiatives have elevated the school system, ensuring it competes with the top international schools in Oman.
A pivotal moment in this transformation was aligning with Oman’s Vision 2040. Following the pandemic, external academic and financial audits were conducted to evaluate the institution’s requirements.
In response to the findings, prompt actions were taken to address deficiencies, leading to improvements in infrastructure, hygiene standards, and access to clean drinking water.
Smart boards were installed in every classroom across all branches, and laboratories and libraries were modernized, fostering a vibrant and contemporary learning environment.
In addition to infrastructure enhancements, a strong emphasis was placed on academic excellence. Alongside the existing Pakistani curriculum, the Cambridge curriculum was introduced to expand educational options.
Digital transformation has been prioritized, establishing PSM as a fully digitized institution for managing data and academic operations.
In a significant development, PSM became the inaugural partner of UNESCO in Oman, advocating for equitable education and serving students from more than 19 nationalities.
To align with global educational trends, the Department of Research and Development was founded in 2024.
This department is focused on integrating Oman’s Vision 2040 into the academic structure while also incorporating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and essential 21st-century skills.
The curriculum now emphasizes critical thinking, digital literacy, and student well-being, ensuring that PSM graduates are prepared for future challenges.
Moreover, the R&D department manages both external and internal teacher training programs to continually improve educational quality.
Acknowledging the significance of sustainability, Pakistan Schools Oman have moved towards a paperless environment through project-based learning initiatives.
Additionally, e-classes for Grade 8 and S1 will be introduced in the upcoming academic year, alongside the launch of the BTEC Level 3 Business Extended Diploma, further enhancing the school’s digital capabilities.
Community outreach is a key focus, with Pakistan Schools Oman collaborating with universities and colleges to expand opportunities for higher education and professional growth.
Reinforcing this commitment, financial audits were completed in 2022—after being overdue since 2016—confirming that the schools are now operating at a surplus after years of financial difficulties.
This financial stability paves the way for ongoing improvements in both infrastructure and academic programs.
Engagement from parents and the community has been significantly enhanced. A Parent Council has been formed to act as ambassadors for the school, thereby strengthening the collaboration between the institution and families.
Moreover, prioritizing student voice and choice ensures that their goals are in harmony with the school’s vision and mission.
We express our sincere gratitude to the current Ambassador of Pakistan, Dr. Naveed Safdar Bokhari, whose steadfast support continues to uphold the legacy of Pakistan Schools Oman.
With a consistent increase in student enrollment, the rising academic standards at PSM are clear, further solidifying its status as a premier educational institution in Oman.
Pakistan Schools Oman have maintained their legacy while redefining excellence in education. As the system enters the next phase of its journey, it stands as a symbol of progress, inclusivity, and innovation, poised to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow.
The upcoming 50 years promise remarkable advancements, reinforcing PSM’s dedication to academic excellence and global competitiveness.
The schools will persist in leading through their mission and vision, fostering a community of lifelong learners who cherish respect, equality, and dignity while embracing diverse perspectives that enhance our strength.
Our vision is in alignment with the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who underscores the essential role of education, research, and knowledge centers as the cornerstone of economic development.
Pakistan Schools in Oman are privileged to contribute to this national objective by nurturing future-ready individuals equipped with the skills and values necessary to navigate and shape an interconnected world.
