Pakistan School System Organises First-Ever Autism Awareness Symposium

Muscat: The Pakistan School System proudly held its first Autism Awareness Symposium, graciously supported by Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Al Said, marking a significant achievement for the school’s Centre for Special Education (CSE).

This groundbreaking event underscores the management's steadfast dedication to fostering inclusivity and raising awareness for children with special needs.

The symposium was attended by several esteemed dignitaries. Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Al Said served as the Chief Guest, reaffirming her ongoing support for initiatives that promote inclusion and awareness. Among the notable attendees were Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Hamed Al Jabey, Chairman of the Down Syndrome Association, who was the Guest of Honour; His Excellency Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, along with his wife; the spouse of the Chinese Ambassador; the Ambassador of Iran; and respected representatives from prominent institutions such as MCBS and Qurum International School.

A key feature of the symposium was an exhibition by the CSE students, who displayed their talents and innovative projects.

The guests expressed their admiration and gratitude for the work presented.

The program included collaborative performances by both CSE and mainstream students, showcasing the school’s commitment to inclusivity, teamwork, and equal opportunity.

An insightful panel discussion, facilitated by seasoned Indian educators, provided practical advice on inclusive teaching methods, while a special presentation celebrated the unwavering commitment of the CSE faculty.

To wrap up the event, Mr. Ameer Hamza, Chairman of the Board of Directors, recognized the trailblazers who contributed to the establishment of the CSE department, along with the distinguished guests, acknowledging their significant roles in this transformative educational journey.
