Over 900 Expats Deported From Oman In June

During the month of June 2024, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labour Welfare at the office of the Joint Inspection Team in Muscat, and with the support of the Inspection Unit of the Security and Safety Services Corporation, arrested 1,366 violating workers, and deported 919 male and female workers, during the inspection campaigns carried out by the Joint Inspection Team in the Directorate.

The Ministry is intensifying its inspection campaigns on establishments operating in the private sector and the expatriate workforce in all governorates of the Sultanate, with the aim of regulating the labour market in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. It is worth noting that the number of those arrested during the first half of 2024 was 9,042 male and female workers, and 7,612 were deported.
