Oman’s Pavilion At Venice International Art Biennale 2024 To Open On Friday

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will be participating in the 60th edition of the Venice International Art Biennale 2024, titled "Foreigners Everywhere," with its own pavilion. The exhibition will run from the 19th of April 2024 until the 24th of November 2024.

The opening ceremony of Oman's pavilion will be held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said, Secretary-General at the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers.

Since its establishment in 1895, the Venice Biennale has been recognized as one of the most significant international art events in the world. This biennial expo provides an opportunity for countries to showcase their national works of art in dedicated pavilions.

Oman's independent pavilion is situated in a unique location near the historic Piazza San Marco, the vibrant heart of Venice. Covering a total area of 300 square meters, the pavilion allows Omani artists to exhibit their artworks independently, promoting Omani art on a global scale. It also aims to enhance the visibility of Omani artistic and cultural identity, expand the country's cultural communication networks, and foster future collaborations with other nations.

The pavilion is expected to attract approximately 2,000 visitors daily.

Notable Omani artists, including Alia Al Farsi, Dr. Ali Al Jabri, Issa Al Mufarji, Adham Al Farsi, and Sarah Al Awlaki, will be attending the biennale.

During the event, the Sultanate of Oman will organize special programs and workshops focused on modern art.
