Oman’s GDP At Current Prices Rises In First Quarter Of 2024

The Sultanate of Oman's GDP at current prices saw a 0.8 percent increase, reaching OMR10.44 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2024, up from OMR10.36 billion in the same period of 2023.

According to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), crude oil activities decreased by 4.4 percent to OMR2.996 billion, while natural gas activities dropped by 0.1 percent to OMR524.40 million.

On the other hand, non-oil activities showed a strong growth of 3.9 percent, totaling OMR7.18 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2024, compared to OMR6.92 billion in the same quarter of 2023.

Total industrial activities amounted to OMR2.01 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2024, up from OMR1.91 billion in the first quarter of 2023. Agricultural, forestry, and fishing activities reached OMR277 million, while the service sector activities reached OMR4.89 billion.
