Oman’s First-ever Floral Event To Bloom At The Muscat Nights

Muscat: The inaugural Muscat Flower Festival will make its debut as part of the Muscat Nights Festival, transforming Qurum Natural Park into a stunning floral display. This event aims to celebrate the splendor of nature, art, and diverse ecosystems.

Organized by Muscat Municipality, this first-of-its-kind festival is scheduled to take place from December 23, 2024, to January 21, 2025. It promises to be an enchanting tribute to the beauty of nature, featuring exceptional floral arrangements from international designers and highlighting local Omani talent.

The festival will present the work of acclaimed floral designers from France, the Netherlands, and the USA, alongside Oman’s own esteemed florist, Madhvi Ramesh Khimji, and her team of local artists. Notably, Oman is the first country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to join the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA).

A major highlight of the festival will be the Grand Floral Centrepiece, titled "Roots of Wonders, Canopies of Dreams," which will stand at an impressive 9 meters tall at the peak of the display, sure to enchant all attendees.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore uniquely designed Show Gardens created by an international team from Singapore, Thailand, China, and the USA.

Families can engage in a variety of interactive activities that blend art, nature, and creativity.

The festival invites participants of all ages to explore their creativity through activities such as creating floral bracelets and crowns, painting flowerpots, and sculpting clay animals and objects. This engaging experience encourages a connection with nature and promises to be an adventure that sparks curiosity, nurtures a passion for the environment, and fosters unforgettable memories.

Additionally, the event will feature a lively marketplace with local vendors offering fresh flowers, handmade crafts, and floral-themed food and beverages.

Hanan bint Abdullah Al Shuraiqi, Technical Supervisor of the Muscat Flower Festival at Muscat Municipality, stated, “This event aims to highlight a blend of international floral artistry and local cultural elements, providing an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. We eagerly anticipate welcoming guests from across the country and the region to celebrate creativity, nature, and Oman’s rich heritage in a vibrant, world-class setting.”

This collaboration enhances Muscat’s winter calendar, presenting visitors with a distinctive combination of cultural and artistic experiences.
