Omani Students Excel In Malaysian Event

The Ministry of Education, through the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads, successfully concluded its participation in the 35th edition of the International Exhibition of Invention, Innovation, and Technology held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Representing the Ministry were three talented female students from Dohat Al Adab School for Basic Education in Muscat Governorate and Sawda Umm Al-Mu’minin School for Basic Education in ADhahirah Governorate.

During the event, the Ministry received several prestigious awards. The team from Dohat Al Adab School in Muscat Governorate, led by student Fay bint Salem Al Mahrouqi, secured first place and a gold medal in the information technology category for their innovative use of hybrid artificial technology in detecting liver cirrhosis.

Additionally, the team was honored with special awards from the Center for Invention and Innovation in Indonesia, the Innovation Centre in Singapore, the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia, and the Research and Development Council for Innovation in Qatar.

The team from Sawda Umm al-Mu’minin Basic Education School in ADhahirah Governorate, represented by students Al-Ghalabint Salim Al- Yaqoubi and Zainab bint Humaid Al-Muqbali, clinched second place and a silver medal in the science and environment category for their invention of green chemistry for manufacturing nano-iron. They also received a special award from Al-Tuwaiq Academy in Saudi Arabia.
