Omani Startup Accelerator Celebrates Graduation Of New Batch Of Aspirant Entrepreneurs

Muscat: On Tuesday, the Omani Startup Accelerator commemorated the graduation of its latest cohort. This event was organized in collaboration with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), represented by the Industrial Innovation Academy.

The ceremony took place under the patronage of Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), who emphasized the significant advancements made by these young entrepreneurs and their innovations, which are now poised for export.

A total of 46 startups and innovative concepts emerged from the two phases of “idea” and “pre-seed,” focusing on sectors such as tourism, real estate, health, and food security.

Over the course of four months, participants engaged in more than 290 hours of training across various disciplines essential for the growth and development of their startups. The curriculum included entrepreneurship fundamentals, marketing and brand development, investment round execution, product and service development, and market readiness assessment.

Notably, eight products were developed for market readiness in the “idea” track, while 13 products reached trading readiness in the “pre-seed” track. Additionally, seven products from the “idea” track met the necessary value criteria to enter their respective target markets.
