Two Arrested For Smuggling Over 15 Kgs Of Opium In Water Pumps

Muscat: The Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, working with the Directorate General of Customs, successfully captured two Asian individuals for attempting to smuggle more than 15 kilograms of opium into a European country.

The arrest was made following a thorough tracking operation involving a suspicious consignment of water pumps allegedly originating in an Asian nation. According to intelligence, an international drug ring professionally buried the narcotics inside the pumps.

The suspects were caught while attempting to send the illegal cargo via a shipping service. Legal processes are presently being carried out against the two individuals.
