Muscat: The Omani-Saudi Knowledge Dialogue Forum began on Sunday in Muscat, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in collaboration with the Saudi Council of University Affairs.
The forum's commencement ceremony was held under the supervision of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
The Omani-Saudi Knowledge Dialogue Forum serves as a strategic platform for strengthening knowledge collaboration and expertise exchange between the two brotherly nations.
The forum's goals include developing links between Omani and Saudi higher education institutions, bolstering scientific research collaboration through joint research projects and researcher exchanges, facilitating student and academic exchanges, and promoting the development of research and development centers.
Furthermore, the forum aims to promote shared investments in education, scientific research, and innovation by establishing communication networks between intellectual, educational, and research institutions. These efforts contribute to the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.
The forum brings together scholars, researchers, and policymakers from both nations to share visions, ideas, and knowledge while examining ways to expand knowledge collaborations across several nationally important industries.
The event will include numerous panel discussions focusing on the obstacles and possibilities of establishing top universities in GCC countries, with an emphasis on the contribution of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions in supporting education, learning, and smart campuses, as well as collaboration in scientific research and innovation. The forum includes engagement from approximately 70 Saudi institutions, various research centers, and all public and private higher education organizations in Oman.
