Muscat: The rich historical tapestry of Oman's coinage is being celebrated with the inauguration of the "Omani Coinage Exhibition" by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. This event, taking place at the Land of Frankincense Museum in Salalah, is a testament to the country's deep-rooted history in the realm of currency.

The exhibition, inaugurated under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is a comprehensive showcase of Oman's currency history. It features a diverse collection of displays, ranging from the earliest coins minted in the Sultanate of Oman since the 19th century to the most recent paper notes, including those from Gulf Indian rupees, up to the sixth issue of paper currency.
