Oman Wins 'Excellence, Innovation Award' At 26th Gulf Engineering Forum

Manama: The Sultanate of Oman has been awarded the “Excellence and Innovation Award” at the 26th Gulf Engineering Forum for its project titled "Combined Combustion Truck for Carbon Reduction."

This forum, taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain until February 13, 2025, focuses on the theme "Challenges of Energy Conversion." The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology represents Oman at this event.

The award-winning project is designed to lower carbon emissions and enhance sustainable mobility. Blue Ice Oman is working on a combined combustion engine for trucks that utilizes a mixture of hydrogen and diesel, achieving a 50 percent reduction in emissions. This initiative aligns with Oman’s Zero Neutrality Strategy 2050, which aims for zero emissions.

The 26th Gulf Engineering Forum gathers a distinguished group of experts in environmental conservation, energy, and industry. It addresses engineering challenges related to energy transformation and seeks innovative solutions, technologies, and modern designs to tackle these issues.

Throughout the three-day forum, various dialogue sessions and workshops will be conducted, featuring participation from engineers, researchers, and academics who will share insights on energy transformation, renewable energy, decarbonization, and innovations for developing a clean energy policy.
