Oman Welcomes French President's Call To Halt Weapon Deliveries To Israel

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has warmly received the invitation extended by His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic, to halt the provision of military weaponry to the Israeli occupation forces amidst the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Sultanate views this as a significant move within the broader context of international endeavors aimed at curtailing the intensification of the conflict and safeguarding the civilian population from the devastating effects of warfare.

Oman emphasized the critical need for the international community to adopt resolute stances against the violence and military escalation in the region. Furthermore, there is a call for compliance with international and humanitarian legal frameworks, which includes ceasing all forms of military assistance that exacerbate the conflict and prolong the suffering of the civilian population.

The Sultanate urges all involved parties to engage in dialogue once more and pledge to a just and comprehensive political resolution that ensures the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, with a particular focus on the establishment of an independent state for the Palestinians, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital, in alignment with international resolutions on statehood.
