Oman, South Africa Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, greeted Anna Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides addressed bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of South Africa in a number of sectors. They explored the potential of establishing a joint economic forum in Muscat, as well as strengthening tourism cooperation by streamlining processes and supporting tourism-related projects.

The two parties also exchanged views on regional problems. Al Harthy thanked South Africa for its vehement opposition to the genocide being perpetrated on the Palestinians as a result of the Israeli conflict. For her part, Moraka praised Oman's successful efforts in resolving regional challenges via peaceful ways.

The meeting was attended by Saleh Mohammed Al Saqri, Director of the Foreign Ministry's East Africa Department, David Mogobo, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Sultanate of Oman, and other authorities from both nations.
