Oman Renews Call To End Illegal Occupation Of Palestine Territories

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has accepted the judgment of the International Court of Justice concerning the United Nations General Assembly's request to the court concerning "Israeli practices that affect the human rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem."

Furthermore, Oman has reiterated its appeal to the international community to enforce international resolutions and conventions that advocate for an immediate cessation of the illegal occupation of the occupied territories and the recognition of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has closely monitored the opinion presented by the International Court of Justice in response to the United Nations General Assembly's request concerning 'Israeli practices that affect the human rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem,' and the subsequent acknowledgment of the illegality of Israeli practices in the occupied territories and the affirmation of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination."

"While the Sultanate of Oman acknowledges the judgment of the International Court of Justice regarding the legal implications of the occupying state's practices, it simultaneously reaffirms its call on the international community to implement international resolutions and conventions that advocate for an immediate cessation of the illegal occupation of the occupied territories and an end to settlement activities and the cycle of violence in the Palestinian territories."

Additionally, Oman has reiterated its stance in support of the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
