Oman Radio Wins Second Prize In Arab Music And Singing Competition

Tunis: Oman Radio has received second place in the song category of the Arab Music and Singing Competition, which is organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), which is based in Tunis, for the song Mawtan AlJalal.

The winning entry features lyrics by Hisham Al Saqri, composition and arrangement by Asaad Al Raisi, and singing by Abdulhameed Al Kayoumi.

The competition received widespread participation from Arab broadcasting organizations, including both public and private radio stations, with 11 songs and 8 musical pieces submitted from Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, the Comoros, and Libya.

According to song's composer and arranger, Asaad Al Raisi, this accomplishment represents a major cultural and artistic contribution to Oman Radio's participation in the Arab Music and Singing Competition under ASBU.

The event is one of several cultural and artistic projects undertaken by ASBU as part of ongoing efforts to encourage Arab musical and vocal innovation and promote Arab musical culture.
