The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 46th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council, which convened in Kuwait.
Oman was represented by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister.
During the discussions, the Ministerial Council emphasized the necessity of upholding the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. It also expressed its disapproval of foreign interference in Syria's domestic matters.
The Council conveyed its approval of the measures implemented to safeguard civilians, halt the violence, promote national reconciliation, and maintain the institutions and capabilities of the Syrian state.
Additionally, the Ministerial Council condemned the ongoing Israeli assaults on Syrian territory, including the occupation of the buffer zone along the Syrian border, highlighting the need for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in halting these attacks and ensuring Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Syrian lands.
Regarding Lebanon, the Council reiterated the steadfast positions of its member states in support of Lebanon's sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.
The GCC Ministerial Council underscored the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement. It also condemned the persistent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure, as well as civilian and health facilities.
The extraordinary meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the GCC Department at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Saleh Amer Al Kharousi, Ambassador of Oman to Kuwait, and various officials from the Foreign Ministry.
