Oman, Kuwait Explore Cooperation In Shaping Economic Policies

An Omani delegation, headed by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, visited Kuwait today. During their visit, they engaged in discussions with Ahmed bin Ja’ed Al Anzi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. The meeting focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration and sharing expertise in development planning and economic policy formulation.

The delegation received insights into the operations of specialized centers within the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development.

Topics of discussion included cooperation in capacity building and training related to the formulation of public policies, among other relevant areas.

Additionally, both parties deliberated on methodologies for developing future visions and conducting collaborative research in critical development sectors.

Dr. Saleh Amer Al Kharousi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Kuwait, was also present at the meeting.

Furthermore, the delegation visited the Arab Planning Institute, where they explored potential collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and the Institute in planning and development research.

The Arab Planning Institute is recognized as a regional entity with significant expertise in training and administrative development, serving as a center of excellence in development research. The delegation was informed about the Institute’s strategic initiatives and future plans, which included enhancing partnerships with Oman, particularly in training across various economic disciplines.
