Muscat: Sayyid Mohammed Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, met with Dr. Faiq Zidan, President of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, and his delegation at his office on Wednesday.
The Iraqi official's visit seeks to enhance collaboration between the judicial institutions of the two nations.
During the meeting, the two sides addressed strategies to improve judicial and legal ties, broaden domains of joint cooperation, swap knowledge, and initiate training and technical programs—actions that would improve the justice system's performance and efficiency.
The two parties also discussed a number of themes of shared interest, including reforming court procedures, creating legal training institutions, and enhancing the quality of judicial services while speeding litigation processes.
The Iraqi delegation was briefed on important components of Oman's expertise in building its judicial working environment, with a focus on digital transformation and utilizing technology to deliver justice—ensuring better litigant experiences and increased institutional efficiency.
Al Busaidi emphasised that this visit is a significant step toward strengthening judicial ties between Oman and Iraq, adding that the sharing of information and expertise is a vital cornerstone for developing judicial work and establishing effective strategic partnerships.
