Oman Authority Gets Tough On Violators For Illegal Tree-Cutting

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has responded to the incident of cutting down a group of perennial trees in the Dhofar Governorate by taking appropriate actions against the violators.

In a statement, the EA addressed the issue that was widely circulated on social media platforms regarding the destruction of perennial trees in the mountains of Dhofar Governorate. The Authority emphasized that it has already implemented the necessary measures against those responsible, in accordance with the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Law No. 114/2001.

Furthermore, the EA expressed its gratitude towards the society for their dedication in safeguarding the Omani environment. They urged everyone to actively engage by reporting any environmental violations or encroachments on wildlife through the hotline 1991.

It is important to note that environmental laws strictly prohibit any interference with or encroachment on wildlife.
