Oman And Mauritania Sign Several Memoranda Of Understandings

In Nouakchott, the Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, held a meeting with Mohamed Zein El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM).

The discussions focused on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Oman and Mauritania, as well as increasing joint investments in key sectors.

They also explored opportunities to promote partnerships among business-people and share expertise in areas of mutual interest.

Al Busaidi emphasized Oman's commitment to strengthening trade and economic ties with Mauritania, highlighting the promising opportunities in sectors like energy, mining, tourism, agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

The President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers expressed the Mauritanian private sector's readiness to enhance economic cooperation with Oman's private sector, offering assistance to overcome any challenges faced by Omani companies in Mauritania.

Additionally, Oman and Mauritania signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering political consultations, diplomatic training, studies, research, and cooperation in oil and gas, minerals, energy, and information and communication technology (ICT).
