New York: At the high-level meeting of the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for 2025, the Sultanate of Oman reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to supporting international humanitarian efforts and improving rapid responses to global disasters.
Omar Said Al Kathiri, the Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations, emphasized in his opening remarks that the Sultanate is committed to facilitating swift responses to crises and humanitarian emergencies worldwide.
In his address, which took place in the presence of the UN Secretary-General, Oman highlighted the critical need for international solidarity in addressing the increasing humanitarian challenges. He also acknowledged the essential role of the CERF in assisting the most vulnerable populations.
The event included participation from officials representing UN agencies focused on humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, Oman announced its financial contribution, which has been approved by the government, aimed at supporting CERF's initiatives to deliver life-saving humanitarian aid and enhance effective responses to emergencies globally.
Through its involvement, the Sultanate of Oman reiterates its commitment to the principles of international humanitarian action and expresses its readiness to collaborate with the UN and other international partners to promote human security and achieve stability and sustainable development for all.
