OCCI Launches 14 Initiatives To Improve Business Environment

Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in collaboration with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, introduced 14 initiatives aimed at enhancing the business environment on Wednesday.

These initiatives are designed to economically develop the governorates and broaden the scope of economic diversification.

The launch occurred during a "Strategic Approaches Developmental Session."

The closing ceremony featured Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the OCCI Board of Directors, along with heads of sectoral committees and specialists from relevant authorities.

Al Rowas emphasized that the development session is part of OCCI’s continuous efforts to bolster the private sector and its contribution to the national economy.

He noted that the session aimed to engage a distinguished group of experts, business leaders, and stakeholders to ensure the execution of programs and projects aligned with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040, with the ultimate goal of achieving sustainable economic growth.

Al Rowas stated that the session underscores OCCI’s dedication to fostering dialogue and collaboration among various stakeholders involved in enhancing the business environment and building strategic partnerships. He remarked, “These initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness of the Omani economy and creating new opportunities for the private sector.”

The involvement of Board of Directors members and department heads underscores the Chamber's dedication to fostering dialogue and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the business landscape and fortify strategic alliances.

He noted that these initiatives will lead to significant advancements, bolster the competitiveness of the Omani economy, and unveil new opportunities for the private sector.

Zakaria bin Abdullah Al Saadi, CEO of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, elaborated that the Chamber's new strategy is centered around discussion sessions and collaborative efforts to create initiatives in partnership with diverse public and private sector entities, aimed at supporting the national economy and amplifying the Chamber's and private sector's roles in development.

He emphasized that this workshop was conducted in partnership with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit to ensure alignment between the Chamber’s strategic objectives and national priorities.

The CEO confirmed that, in collaboration with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, the Chamber has formulated a comprehensive plan to execute these initiatives effectively, ensuring they achieve the intended outcomes through a well-defined methodology that enhances the Chamber’s support for the private sector.

Khalfan bin Suleiman Al Bahri, Director of the Office for Follow-up of the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040 at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted that the development cycle of strategic directions involved thorough discussions and a detailed analysis of the initiatives derived from the three foundational pillars.

He clarified that the Chamber has set up the Office for Monitoring the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040, which is responsible for overseeing the execution of detailed plans related to the initiatives arising from this cycle, as well as other strategic programs.
