Muscat: The Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Committee at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) convened for its fourth meeting of 2024 in Muscat on Tuesday.
Led by Eng. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hosni, the Committee Chairman, the meeting focused on Oman’s involvement in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, a prominent event in the global telecommunications sector. Additionally, the committee reviewed several initiatives aimed at enhancing the digital economy in Oman.
Among the initiatives discussed was a project aimed at modernizing economic activities through the integration of digital economy and artificial intelligence, which is expected to boost productivity, improve services, and attract foreign investment, according to Al Hosni.
He also highlighted the committee's appreciation for the efforts of the Oman Future Fund in fostering venture capital investment and related funds, as well as the “Shuaa” platform, which facilitates access to research outcomes in Oman.
