Nepal Embassy Organises Labour Awareness And Literature Programme

The Nepal embassy, in collaboration with NRN Social Club Oman and International Nepali Literature Society Oman, organized a labor awareness and literature program at Nepal House on 12 July 2024 from 15:00 to 18:00 to celebrate the 211th Bhanu Jayanti.

The event aimed to spread information about labor awareness through literary presentations and to promote Nepali language, literature, and culture as part of the Bhanu Jayanti celebration, the birth anniversary of poet Adikabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya.

The program began with the traditional lighting of the Panas lamp by Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman. In his welcome speech, the ambassador highlighted the significance of literature in human life and its role in creating awareness on various issues.

The ambassador also announced that the embassy will continue to organize similar programs in coordination with Nepali organizations in the coming years.

During the event, Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary, presented on important labor awareness matters, including the renewal of labor permits and the newly launched online demand attestation portal. Members of the Nepali Community also shared their views on the importance of labor awareness and the use of literature to understand life and livelihood away from their homeland. Additionally, participants recited poems, sang songs, and presented their literary works.

The program was jointly conducted by Bishesh Kumar Sah and Tolakanta Bhattarai, with the assistance of volunteers from various Oman-based Nepali organizations.
