Navy Ship YARMOOK Visits Port Sultan Qaboos In Muscat To Celebrate 77th Independence Day Of Pakistan

Muscat: The Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK made a visit to Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat, on the occasion of celebrating the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan on August 14, 2024.

The day commenced with a grand flag hoisting ceremony on the ship's deck, showcasing the impeccable attire of the ship's crew as they presented the guard of honour with the national anthem of Pakistan.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Pakistani Ambassador, along with the Defence Attaché and students from the Pakistan School in Muscat, all adorned in a myriad of vibrant Pakistani attire. Prayers were also offered for the safety and protection of Pakistan.

In the evening, the ship hosted a reception dinner aboard, which was attended by diplomats, including ambassadors and military attaches from various nations, senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces of Oman, and distinguished members of the Pakistani community.

PNS YARMOOK is currently engaged in Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) duties, as part of Pakistan Navy's efforts to contribute to regional maritime security, protect international shipping, and ensure the freedom of navigation on the high seas.

As part of its visit, the ship was also involved in a Passage Exercise with the Royal Navy Oman Ship in the Sea of Oman.

The visit of PNS YARMOOK to Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat, was strategically aimed at fostering stronger ties of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and Pakistan at large, and between the Royal Navy of Oman and the Pakistan Navy in particular.
