Manah: The Nama Power and Water Procurement Company has announced its achievement of 60 percent implementation across both Manah 1 and Manah 2 solar energy projects within the Manah District of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
These electricity generation projects, with a total estimated cost of approximately $800 million, mark a significant milestone in the Sultanate of Oman's efforts to reduce its carbon emissions and decrease reliance on natural gas.
Ahmed Salim Al Abri, the Acting CEO of Nama Power and Water Procurement Company, has stated that the combined production capacity of the "Manah 1 and Manah 2" solar energy projects has reached 1,000 megawatts, predominantly achieved through the utilization of solar photovoltaic technology.
These projects span an area of 14.5 million square meters and encompass over two million square meters. The total length of their cables stretches more than 3,000 kilometers, and they are set to provide power to over 120,000 residential units.
The commercial operation of the "Manah 1" project is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with the "Manah 2" project expected to commence its commercial operations in the second quarter of the same year.
