Muscat: The 15th Muscat International Oncology Conference commenced on Sunday, focusing on the latest advancements in oncology research and treatment. The event aims to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and expertise among oncology professionals.
Organized by the Oman Cancer Association in partnership with the Royal Hospital and the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre, the two-day conference features academic lectures and workshops addressing a range of cancer treatment topics.
Participants will explore the experiences of several East Mediterranean countries regarding the decentralization of cancer care. Discussions will include the application of these experiences within Arab communities, strategies to manage the rising costs of medications, approaches to early lung cancer treatment, and methods for addressing complex and rare cases in radiotherapy and urogenital tumors.
The opening ceremony was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.
