Mariano Caucino, Argentina's ambassador to India, stated in New Delhi on Wednesday that the nation has eased visa restrictions for Indian nationals who possess legitimate US visas.

A resolution published in the official gazette states that Indian citizens holding tourist visas to the United States will now be permitted to enter Argentina. without having to apply for an Argentine visa separately.

In a statement posted on X, Ambassador Caucino welcomed the move, stating that the Argentine Government has made it simpler for Indians with US visas to enter the nation. Indian nationals who hold tourist visas are now permitted to enter the United States without having to apply for an Argentine visa, according to the resolution that was released in the Official Gazette. The visa news coincides with increased collaboration between India and Argentina in a variety of sectors.

The second Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on agriculture was conducted in New Delhi in July, with representatives from both sides, including Indian Cochair Devesh Chaturvedi, attending. The Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare participated remotely. Both developments demonstrate the increasing interaction between the two nations.

Sergio Iraeta, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, presided over the meeting from the Argentine side, as stated in a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The meeting was highlighted by both parties as a crucial step toward enhancing bilateral collaboration in agriculture and related industries.

Devesh Chaturvedi stressed the significance of Argentina to India during the meeting. He said that the connection between the two countries is founded on a spirit of cooperation, the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and best practices that promote the interests of both parties. He stressed the opportunities in sectors like climate-resilient agriculture, pest management, agricultural mechanization, and collaborative research.

He emphasized Argentina's strong interest in enhancing collaboration in important sectors, including plant breeding technologies, genome editing, and agricultural mechanization.
