2 Children Killed, 17 Injured In Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting

Minnesota: A gunman shot through the windows of a Minnesota church this morning, killing two children. Fourteen other children and three elderly worshipers were hurt. According to CNN, the victim was hurt while celebrating the first week of school at Annunciation Catholic School.

The FBI identified the gunman, who is dead, as 23-year-old Robin Westman. According to a yearbook, as quoted by CNN, the suspect graduated from the school in 2017.

According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, Westman issued a manifesto on YouTube with some unsettling statements. According to police, the gunman committed suicide behind the church and had no previous criminal record. Police suspect that Westman carried out the assault alone.

They have now been taken down, and detectives are examining the material in an attempt to discover a motive. According to CNN, the FBI chief, Kash Patel, stated that the agency is investigating the incident as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crimes aimed at Catholics.

According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, all of the other victims are projected to survive, and several of the youngsters have been freed.

They suffered a variety of injuries. One, I believe, was like a graze wound from a bullet, according to O'Hara. All the way to some very, very serious and life-threatening injuries that they fortunately are expected to survive.

Three weapons seized at the crime scene had been lawfully acquired by the gunman, who had just been granted authorization to buy firearms, according to O'Hara.

I don't know where the weapons were purchased, but they were acquired legally, according to O'Hara.

In Minnesota, a permit is necessary to buy and carry firearms in public. According to CNN, the government does not distinguish between open and concealed carry.
