Muscat: The primary assembly of the "Muscat International Book Fair 2025" convened today, commencing its inaugural preparatory meeting under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, the Minister of Information and the Chairman of the Committee.
The assembly meticulously reviewed the array of cultural events planned to accompany the 29th edition of the book fair, scheduled to occur from April 23 to May 3, 2025.
The panel dedicated significant attention to the assurance of both the quality and diversity of these events, aiming to fulfill the expectations of the fair's attendees. It placed particular emphasis on the inclusion of distinguished literary scholars, intellectuals, and media personalities from both the Arab world and beyond.
Furthermore, the committee deliberated on strategies to highlight the North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, which will serve as the Guest of Honour for the book fair, by presenting the governorate's rich historical and cultural heritage, along with its investment and tourism assets.
The assembly also examined statistical data pertaining to the previous editions of the book fair and discussed potential dates for the forthcoming editions of the Muscat International Book Fair, spanning the years 2026 to 2030. Additionally, it explored strategies to mitigate anticipated challenges.
