More Than 60,000 Teachers Return To Schools On Monday

Muscat: Over 60,000 educators are scheduled to return to their respective schools in the Sultanate of Oman for the 2024/2025 academic year, with students commencing their classes on September 1.

A comprehensive team of teaching staff, supervisors, members of both educational and administrative bodies, as well as support groups, will commence their preparations at various educational institutions to welcome the incoming students.

This year, the government schools have seen a total of 61,195 teachers, achieving an Omanisation rate of 87.6 percent across 1,269 schools throughout the nation.

The number of administrators and technicians within government schools has increased to 10,652, with a gender distribution of 4,306 males and 6,346 females, achieving an Omanisation rate of 99.8%.

Special education schools have also seen an increase, with 220 male and female teachers, achieving an Omanisation rate of 93%.

In 2023, the educational landscape of the Sultanate of Oman welcomed over 700,000 students across various educational directorates.
