Muscat: On Sunday, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Mitsui E&P Middle East, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate and fund the establishment of a sensory and visual interaction hall at Al Amal School for the Deaf in Al Khuwair.
The MOU was ceremoniously signed by Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Nasser bin Ali Al Kindi, General Manager of Mitsui E&P Middle East.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Shanoona Al Habsi, Assistant Director-General for Special Education at the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuous Learning, Mohammed Al Harbi, Principal of Al Amal School for the Deaf, Ashraf Al Harbi, a member of the Initiatives Support Committee's main team, Saja Al Zadjali, Personal Assistant to the General Manager of Mitsui E&P Middle East, and Salem Al Harthi, Deputy Director of Operations Department at Mitsui E&P Middle East. The ceremony took place at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
This sensory and visual interaction hall is designed to enhance the sensory skills of students with special needs, offering a stimulating educational environment through the utilization of various tools and devices. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the learning, evaluation, and rehabilitation of individuals with special needs, particularly those with functional disorders.
Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs Majid bin Said Al Bahri articulated the purpose of the agreement, stating, "This agreement is a testament to the Ministry's commitment to fostering a multi-sensory educational environment aimed at the development of sensory skills and sensory stimulation control, tailored to meet the educational and therapeutic needs of students with special needs. It is founded on the principle of collaboration between the Ministry and private sector entities, as evidenced by the signing of this agreement with Mitsui E&P Middle East. This partnership is crucial in elevating the quality of education services and underscores the importance of such collaborations in the educational sector."
He further expressed his gratitude to Mitsui E&P Middle East for its generous support and efforts in this domain, highlighting the significance of such partnerships in enhancing the educational landscape.
