Muscat: On Wednesday, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with BP Oman, began a curriculum digitization initiative for grades one through twelve.
The ceremony was conducted under the auspices of Eng. Said Hamood Al Maawali, Minister of Transportation, Communications, and Information Technology, and attended by Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, as well as senior government officials.
The project aims to transform curriculum subjects into interactive digital content that is consistent with current educational trends and digital transformation in the education sector.
The project aims to improve the quality of educational outcomes and create a flexible and inclusive learning environment, as well as help students develop self-learning and collaborative learning skills, equip them with the skills they need for the future, increase academic achievement, and provide access to easy-to-use digital content that supports the diversification of teaching and assessment methods.
Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education for Education, told the audience that the curriculum digitalization effort provides teachers with modern educational technologies while also assisting students in a more participatory, flexible, and complete learning experience that meets their individual needs and talents.
Ambusaidi stated that the project strengthens the Ministry's efforts to create an integrated, technology-driven, and future-oriented educational system.
Eng. Yousef Mohammed Al Ojaili, Chairman of BP Oman, stated that the company's collaboration with the Ministry of Education in implementing this project is consistent with its commitment to promoting educational development in the Sultanate of Oman.
He emphasized the importance of public-private collaborations in fostering innovation and making a lasting impact on education.
The ceremony included a presentation on model lessons that used interactive screens and highlighted the project's important characteristics.
The project consists of six stages: preparation, analysis, educational scenario development, digital production, pilot testing, and digital book dissemination (providing access to digital material via the elearning platform and eventually via the Noor system).
