Ministry Of Education: 34 Centres To Assist Diploma Graduates Opens In Oman

Muscat: The Career Guidance and Student Counselling Centre at the Ministry of Education officially commenced operations on the third of July.

A comprehensive network of 34 centres has been established to cater to the interests of individuals pursuing General Education Diploma and those contemplating adjustments to their academic interests and study programs across various directorates within the governorates.

This phase of adjustment to interests is scheduled to span from the 24th of July to the 4th of August, 2023, through the interface of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation's website.

The Technical Support Centres are dedicated to assisting individuals with General Education Diploma, offering them the requisite information needed to select their desired specializations and academic programs within the higher education sector, in addition to addressing their inquiries related to enrollment, admission processes, job vacancies, program conditions, and specializations.

These Technical Support Centres have been strategically located by the Directorate General of Education within each governorate, taking into account the projected student population that will benefit from these services.

In Muscat, the technical support centres will be housed at the Seeb and Quriyat directorates of the Directorate of Education.

In South Al Batinah, the centres will be situated at the College of Technology and Applied Sciences/College of Education in Al Rustaq; the College of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah, Abdullah bin Wahab Basic Education School (grades 10-12); College of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah; and Abdullah bin Wahab Basic Education School (grades 10-12).

The centres in South Al Batinah are expected to serve the needs of students in Al Rustaq; Al Musannah; Al Musannah; and Abdullah bin Wahab Basic Education School.

In North Al Batinah, the centres will be located at the Career Guidance Division of the Directorate General of Education; Um Jafar Al Tayar Basic Education School (grades 5-9); Kaab bin Barsha Basic Education School (grades 9-12); Liwa Science and Innovation Centre; Hawa bint Yazid Basic Education School (grades 10-12); Al Asma bint Al Harith Basic Education School (grades 10-12); and Maryam bint Omran Basic Education School (grades 10-12). The centres in North Al Batinah aim to support students at Um Jafar Al Tayar Basic Education School (grades 5-9); Kaab bin Barsha Basic Education School (grades 9-12); Liwa Science and Innovation Centre; Hawa bint Yazid Basic Education School (grades 10-12); Al Asma bint Al Harith Basic Education School (grades 10-12); and Maryam bint Omran Basic Education School (grades 10-12).

The centres in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate are set to be established at the Nizwa Training Centre; the training centre in Samail; Hay Al Saad School (grades 1-4); and the Hay Al Saad School (grades 1-4).

In South Al Sharqiyah, the centres are scheduled to be established at the Training Centre located along Jalan in the Wilayat of Al Kamil Wal Wafi; Sultan Qaboos School (grades 9-12); and Sur Al Sahil School (grades 5-8).

North Al Sharqiyah will have centres at the Training Centre in Ibra; the training Centre in Samail; Hay Al Saad School (grades 1-4); and Lamis School.

In Al Dhahirah, the centres are expected to be inaugurated at the Omar bin MAsaud School; Maqniat Basic Education School; Al Ala bin Al Hadhramu School; and Alayat Fida School.

The centres in the Al Buraimi Governorate are planned to be established at the Career Guidance Division of the Directorate General of Education.

In Musandam Governorate, the centres are scheduled to be established at Sakina bint Al Hussain School; Khoula bint Al Azar School; and Amna bint Wahab School.

Lastly, in Dhofar, the centres are anticipated to be established at the Activity Hall of the Directorate of Education in Salalah –Al Saada; and the Training Centre in Mahut; and Al Kahel Basic Education School.
