Meeting Reviews Preparations For Dhofar Khareef Season 2025

Salalah: A meeting was conducted today at the Millennium Resort Salalah to review the preparedness of government and private groups in Dhofar Governorate to greet the 2025 Dhofar Khareef season. The meeting was chaired by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

During the meeting, which was attended by Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, HH the Governor emphasized the need of coordinated efforts to improve performance and success by ensuring preparedness among all relevant organizations, each within their jurisdiction, in order to have a successful and exemplary Khareef season.

Dhofar Municipality displayed a visual presentation detailing its strategy and preparedness to improve municipal services across all areas under its jurisdiction. This included an assessment of performance during the previous season, traffic management plans, inspection and oversight measures, coordination with other groups, internal road conditions, and the preparedness of planned sites to host events and activities associated with the tourist season throughout the governorate's several wilayats.

The Royal Oman Police's Dhofar Governorate Police Command then presented its strategy for the Khareef season, which included strategies for managing the season's influx, maintaining smooth traffic flow in high-density areas, deploying security checkpoints, and outlining rescue operations, among other things.

The Director General of Information in Dhofar Governorate presented their plan for broadcasting media programs during the Khareef season as part of a complete media strategy. This includes a variety of radio and television programs, news stories, press coverage, and unique digital content developed for social media platforms.

Discussions also addressed the readiness of Salalah Airport, proactive services and procedures, medical and ambulance services, heritage and tourism preparation, lodging amenities, and the required level of tourist services for the season.

In addition, the conference focused on improving telecommunications services, expanding coverage in particular regions, guaranteeing the supply of energy and water supplies to handle increased seasonal demand, and other important elements associated with the Dhofar Khareef season.

Some Walis, as well as representatives from government and commercial organizations in the governorate, attended the conference.
