Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has today convened a briefing session for prospective students who have been shortlisted for scholarships and grants abroad for the academic year 2024-2025.
This session, hosted at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), provided detailed insights into the essential aspects of scholarships. It highlighted the importance of understanding the academic, religious, cultural, and legal dimensions of the countries that offer these scholarships.
During the session, a lecture was delivered by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, focusing on strategies for adapting to diverse communities while maintaining one's identity, culture, religious, and moral values that are characteristic of Omani culture.
Furthermore, the Directorate General of Scholarships presented an overview of scholarships and grants available abroad. It covered the procedures related to travel, study, and housing, as well as the critical electronic services available in the host countries.
Students were encouraged to refer to the Ministry's website, the “ASAS” system (https://eservices.moheri.gov.om), for additional information on general guidelines, electronic services, laws, and regulations.
