Muscat: The launch of the experimental scientific rocket (Duqm 1), originally set for today, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions, as announced by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT).
The decision to delay the launch is based on the necessity for accurate scientific assessments of various factors, including weather conditions and wind speed, which are critical for the rocket's performance during its ascent into the atmosphere. Consequently, the launch of the experimental scientific rocket (Duqm 1) will be rescheduled until conditions improve.
The Ministry, in collaboration with the National Space Services Company (NASCOM), has indicated that there will be no media coverage for this inaugural experimental launch. They also emphasize the importance of safety precautions, advising all fishermen and seafarers to refrain from navigating or being present in the designated area until the launch is successfully completed.
