Muscat: Kiyoshi Serizawa, Japan's Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, visited Muscat Media Group (MMG) on Monday as part of his outreach plan to connect with major Omani media organisations.
This visit comes after his recent appointment as Japan's Ambassador to the Sultanate and demonstrates his dedication to enhancing cultural and media connections between the two nations.
The ambassador was welcomed by Mohamed Issa Al Zadjali, Chairman of Muscat Media Group and Editor-in-Chief of the Times of Oman, as well as Ahmed Essa Al Zedjali, Chief Executive Officer of Muscat Media Group and Editor-in-Chief of Al Shabiba. Other attendees included Ali Al Rahbi, Deputy CEO and Director General of Corporate Communications, and Khalid Orabi, Director of Business Development.
The ambassador was accompanied by official embassy personnel.
During the meeting, Mohammed Issa Al Zadjali presented an overview of MMG's history, diversified media platforms, and evolution to keep up with the changes in modern journalism.
The dialogues focused on the function of media in bridging cultures and promoting cooperation between Oman and Japan.
Ambassador Serizawa thanked the media for their role in promoting international dialogue and emphasized the significance he assigns to interacting with media organizations as part of his diplomatic mission.
He emphasized that the media serves as a critical channel for fostering mutual understanding and supporting collaborative endeavors among friendly nations.
After the meeting, Ahmed Essa Al Zedjali led the ambassador on a guided tour of the MMG facilities.
The tour highlighted the group's enhanced media capabilities, professional teams, and ongoing breakthroughs in content creation and digital platforms.
The visit ended with a formal exchange of commemorative presents, representing the Japanese Embassy and Muscat Media Group's mutual respect and goodwill.
