ISM Unveils A Commemorative Plaque To Celebrate Golden Jubilee

Muscat: The dawn of 2024 marked a pivotal moment for Indian School Muscat (ISM) as it commenced a year-long celebration in honor of its 50th anniversary.

This significant event was further distinguished by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, which symbolized the school's rich heritage and its steadfast commitment to the future generations.

The inaugural ceremony, held on the school's premises, was attended by distinguished guests, including the honorable Chief Guest His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, the esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr Siva Kumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, and other distinguished members of the School Management Committee, among others.

During this momentous occasion, the Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, delivered a speech that eloquently traced the school's illustrious history.

He highlighted the school's evolution from its humble beginnings in 1975 to its current position as one of the premier educational institutions in the Gulf region.

Additionally, a special Golden Jubilee video was screened, offering a visual narrative of the school's history, its significant milestones, and the myriad memories that have been cherished by its alumni.

Mr. Joshi took the opportunity to pay tribute to the dedicated principals, teachers, and support staff who have been instrumental in shaping ISM into what it is today.

The ISM@50 anthem, a heartfelt composition and performance by the school's performing arts department and the school choir, was a highlight of the event. The musicians and singers captivated the audience with their talent and passion.

In his remarks, the Guest of Honour, Dr Siva Kumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, reflected on the significance of this milestone.

He commended ISM for its exemplary role as a beacon of knowledge for the Indian diaspora in Muscat, Oman, over the past five decades. From its modest inception, ISM has matured into an institution of distinguished reputation, a significant achievement worthy of recognition.

He extended his congratulations to the school for reaching this milestone and expressed his best wishes for its future endeavors.
