International Museum Day Celebrated In Dhofar

Salalah: The Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in the Dhofar Governorate, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Education in the area, marked International Museum Day at the Land of Frankincense Museum in Salalah.

Celebrated on May 18 every year, this event was centered around the theme "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities."

The ceremony included a visual presentation showcasing the projects involved in the "Omani Heritage Through a Future Lens" competition, initiated by the Land of Frankincense Museum to highlight innovators from schools in Dhofar. This competition promoted the use of heritage alongside modern technology and artificial intelligence tools to create visual pieces that convey history through creative means.

At the end of the event, Moosa Abdullah Al Qassabi, the Director General of Culture, Sports, and Youth in the Dhofar Governorate and the chief guest, awarded the winning schools. Al Wadi School claimed the top prize, followed by Ajyal School in second place and Qayrun Hairiti School in third.
