Indian Embassy In Oman Issues Statement On Fraudsters Spoofing Embassy Lines

This has been highlighted in a cautionary notice issued by the embassy, advising against engaging with any calls that appear suspicious.

Furthermore, the Indian Embassy in Muscat has issued a public alert regarding these fraudulent calls, which are designed to extort money from individuals by posing as representatives of the embassy to address matters related to passports and immigration.

"We hereby issue a warning to all Indian nationals residing in Oman to be vigilant of calls originating from numbers that have been spoofed, claiming affiliation with the Indian Embassy," the advisory states.

It has been reported that unsuspecting Indian nationals in Oman are receiving calls purportedly from the Indian Embassy, but in reality, these calls are made by fraudsters. The calls are seeking financial contributions to resolve issues related to passports and immigration at the embassy. It has been noted that these calls are directed to the number +180071234.

"We wish to inform all Indian nationals that the actual contact number for the Community Welfare Wing of the Embassy is 80071234.
