The onset of the Khareef season in Dhalkut brings relief from the scorching summer heat and suffocating humidity, attracting tourists from both within and outside Oman. Dhalkut, situated on the western coast of the Dhofar Governorate, is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty and stunning landscapes, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in its picturesque surroundings.

Within Dhalkut lies the Khadrafi area, located 28 kilometers north of the wilayat, where the fragrant kadi trees once flourished abundantly. However, due to overgrazing and an increase in animal population, these trees faced the threat of extinction. Efforts were made to preserve and propagate these trees, with the Sultan Qaboos University playing a significant role in research and conservation projects.

Dhalkut stands out for its diverse terrain, natural beauty, and thriving fish production, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and tourists seeking a tranquil retreat.

The Dhofar Governorate is renowned for its abundant squid and various fish species, as well as the archaeological sites and inscriptions found in caves, showcasing the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.

An ancient mosque, constructed approximately 350 years ago, stands as a testament to the region's history. Additionally, the area boasts a wide array of crafts, agricultural products, and enjoys a pleasant climate year-round.

The wilayat is famous for its natural springs flowing from the valleys of Al Qamar Mount, as well as numerous caves and grottoes that served as shelters for both humans and animals in ancient times. These caves feature archaeological inscriptions that have now become popular tourist attractions, along with the springs, beaches, and lush mountains.

Moreover, the wilayat is home to a rare and massive baobab tree, one of the largest in Oman, which draws tourists and serves as an environmental and educational site for nature enthusiasts, researchers, and wildlife experts.
