Guwahati: Ruhul Amin, the Bangladesh's Assistant High Commissioner in Guwahati, participated in the 3rd North East Export Promotional Meet, which took place at the Nedfi House. During the event, he conveyed his observations on India's significant progress over the past decade, particularly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an interview with ANI, Amin expressed his confidence in India's ability to achieve its economic objectives. He highlighted the rapid growth of the Indian economy, attributing it to the country's aspirations and goals. "I am of the belief that India will meet its economic targets. Politically, the country has gained considerable influence both regionally and globally. India is fulfilling its role on the international stage, and this momentum will persist under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he stated.
Amin also underscored India's enhanced political position on the global arena. "Under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has seen significant prosperity over the last decade. Economically, India has expanded and secured a place among the top five economies globally. It is understood that the Indian government aims to become the third-largest economy in the world," he added.
The event was also attended by Pabitra Margherita, the Minister of State for External Affairs, who shared his enthusiasm for the occasion on Twitter.
In a tweet, Margherita expressed his delight in participating in the 3rd North East Export Promotional Meet, which was organized by the ICC Chamber in collaboration with MEA India. He welcomed and encouraged participants from the North East Indian states, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand, and Lao PDR to further strengthen trade ties.
The 3rd Edition of the North East Export Promotional Meet was hosted at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati. The event functioned as a platform for business development, offering opportunities for product and service showcase, networking with new suppliers and buyers, and facilitating connections between Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and larger corporations.
A notable aspect of the event was the Buyer-Seller interaction sessions, which provided comprehensive insights into the requirements of buyers for sellers. Additionally, the meet facilitated direct interactions between entrepreneurs from the North-East Indian states and Bhutan.
The focus countries for the Buyer-Seller Meet included Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand, and Laos PDR, with a particular emphasis on the key sectors of North-East India, as per a statement from the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
