Al Amerat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik made a visit to the "Sultan Faisal bin Turki School for Boys," located in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, within the Governorate of Muscat, on Monday.
During his visit, His Majesty the Sultan observed the advancements in the educational sector, particularly noting the implementation of modern programs designed to enhance the cognitive and perceptual capabilities of the students.
Upon his arrival at the school, His Majesty the Sultan was greeted by Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, along with several officials from the Ministry.
Following the reception, the school's scout teams sang slogans in honor and welcome for His Majesty, and a student recited a poem to extend a warm welcome.
He then engaged in a brief overview provided by the students regarding the school's operations. Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan explored various sections and facilities of the school, including attending teaching classes, visiting learning centers, and the laboratory.
During his visit, His Majesty the Sultan also toured an exhibition that was part of the gracious Royal visit. This exhibition featured models of programs and activities developed by the students, focusing on financial culture, entrepreneurship, vocational and technical education, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational process.
Later, His Majesty the Sultan participated in a workshop at the Fine Arts Hall and attended music and sports sessions.
Following these engagements, His Majesty the Sultan had meetings with educators and students from various schools within the Muscat Governorate. He listened to their initiatives, achievements, and perspectives on education.
His Majesty the Sultan emphasized his commitment to providing the recently constructed schools with the latest facilities. He highlighted the evolution of education from traditional to a dynamic field characterized by competition and innovation, driven by the students' knowledge of modern technologies.
He affirmed that the vision of the Royal commitment to "exemplary schools in the future" is being realized, observing that the youth and students he encountered are promising. He stressed the importance of teachers in imparting knowledge effectively and correctly.
"The current state of our schools is a reflection of our aspirations 10 years ago, with the aim of restoring old schools to accommodate the capabilities that leverage modern technologies in education," His Majesty stated.
He expressed his wishes for success to those working in the education sector, urging them to view the students as their own offspring. His Majesty added that the principles and values we hold dear for our children should be instilled in our students through their education.
At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty the Sultan signed the Visitors Book, marking the end of his visit.
