OCO Issues Clarification Regarding Humanitarian Aid To Gaza Strip

Muscat: In response to continued demands for immediate humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO) has produced a full clarification of its efforts and involvement in delivering aid.

According to the OCO, it has been proactively coordinating humanitarian operations since the start of the invasion of Gaza, offering immediate assistance sourced from the local market until supplies ran out. The organization has efficiently run 16 direct air bridges to Egypt and Jordan, bringing essential relief and medical supplies. Furthermore, the OCO helped in the admission of the initial group of war-wounded people for medical care in the Sultanate of Oman.

Since the full ban of access to any support, the organization said it has modified its strategy to deliver humanitarian aid from different nations throughout the world. The OCO's activities are carried out on a weekly and continuous basis in close cooperation with important partners.

This continuous coordination is critical for tracking progress toward the opening of crossings and ensuring that the OCO is completely prepared to provide help as soon as access is permitted.

The OCO reaffirmed its status as the sole officially authorized organization to solicit contributions from individuals and institutions inside the Sultanate of Oman for the goal of providing humanitarian help outside the Sultanate, in compliance with relevant legislation and laws.

The group also emphasised the Omani government's high significance and ongoing supervision of this crucial humanitarian problem. This oversight ensures that the OCO can successfully carry out its goal of coordinating and efficiently delivering Omani aid operations.

The Oman Charitable Organization concluded by telling the public that it will not give up its humanitarian responsibilities and will be prepared to help as soon as the Gaza crossings are accessible. The group offered prayers for a quick end to the people of Gaza.
