Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has cautioned fishermen about the risks of traveling out to sea during the current Khareef season. The ROP advised all fishermen to strictly obey safety standards due to the rough sea conditions common at the time.
In a statement, the ROP emphasized that the Khareef season is characterized by very rough seas and much higher waves, making fishing operations particularly hazardous. As a result, it is highly advised not to go fishing during this time.
The ROP underscored the need for fishermen to constantly monitor official weather warnings and obey with all maritime safety requirements published by authorities in order to protect their safety.
