Muscat: Today, the Sultanate of Oman joyously marked the beginning of Eid Al Adha.
In the Muscat Governorate, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the Eid Al-Adha prayers for the year 1445 AH at Al Murtafaa Garrison Mosque.
As His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, arrived at Al Murtafaa Garrison, a squadron from the Guard of Honor paid tribute with a military salute, warmly welcoming His Majesty's esteemed presence.
Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, led the worshipers during the Eid sermon, expressing gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the blessings of peace and praying for the soul of Prophet Mohammed.
The sermon emphasized that the days of Hajj pilgrimage serve as a renewal of faith in monotheism, a reinforcement of good morals and values, and a reminder of the importance of unity and obedience to Allah. Al Maamari highlighted the significance of successful nation-building, security, economy, citizenship, and harmonious relationships among compatriots.
He also expressed thanks to Allah for His blessings and quoted a verse from the Holy Quran urging mankind to obey the Almighty, worship Him, and engage in good deeds. Al Maamari further explained that the pilgrimage journey symbolizes detachment from sins and a deepening of faith, as well as a commitment to upholding the principles of faith and enjoying the rewards of good faith.
Al Maamari emphasized that the Hajj pilgrimage symbolizes the complexities of life, encompassing both good and evil experiences throughout history. He stated that the pilgrimage represents the diverse journey of life, blending movement and stillness to unite different lifestyles and embrace the existence of all humanity.
Furthermore, Al Maamari highlighted the significance of the Hajj practice in fostering nation-building. He mentioned that reflecting on Prophet Ibrahim's establishment of the Hajj shrines inspires individuals to contribute to their homeland's development by ensuring security, economic growth, and overall prosperity.
During his sermon, Al Maamari prayed for the well-being and protection of His Majesty the Sultan, as well as for the prosperity, progress, and harmony of Oman. He also prayed for the oppressed in Palestine and other regions, asking for Allah's blessings of peace to be bestowed upon them.
After the Eid prayers, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received well-wishers and engaged in friendly conversations with them.
As His Majesty departed from Al Murtafaa Garrison, the Royal Army of Oman fired twenty-one rounds in honor of the Supreme Commander.
Following this, His Majesty's motorcade left Al Murtafaa Garrison amidst sincere prayers from the armed forces, asking for Allah's protection, good health, and longevity for the Sultan.
The Eid prayers were attended by members of the Royal Family, ministers, SAF commanders, as well as military and security personnel, showing unity and respect for His Majesty the Sultan.
